Revising Salient Divine Abilities |
The following is work in progress. Okay, since I am going to be using him in the adventure, I thought I may as well cough up the stats for Orcus. The first set of stats are for Greater Power Orcus (CR 73-113) for use in the Throne of Orcus Adventure, which takes place in an alternate future timeline where Orcus has conquered the Abyss. The second set of stats are the Lesser Power Orcus (CR 36-56), which is where I would have him in power. The third and final set of stats are Orcus as a Quasi-deity (CR 18-28) (which is pretty much where the official rules have him. Use of 'Orcus' here is not done in the course of trade and is not intended as a challenge to any trademarks. Orcus (Prince of the Undead) ~ Greater God (CR 113) Gargantuan Outsider (Chaotic, Demon,
Evil, Extraplanar) This goat-legged humanoid stands sixty feet tall. It has great dragon wings and a snaking tail tipped with a pointed barb. Its skin is pale and the figure bloated and fat, but still unmistakably powerful. Orcus is one of the six monarchs of the demonium; those beings who contest to dominate all demonkind. Combat Orcus Orcus' natural weapons, as well as any weapons he wields are treated as being chaotic-aligned, epic and evil-aligned for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. Demon Traits: Orcus can communicate telepathically with any creature within 100 feet that has a language. He is immune to electricity and poison and he has cold resistance 90 and fire resistance 90. Divine Toughness (Ex): Orcus' Hit Dice become d20s. Divine Traits: Orcus is effectively a greater deity and as such adds a +16 divine bonus to: armor class; attack rolls; checks (ability checks, caster level checks, skill checks, turning checks); difficulty class (for any special abilities, spell-like abilities, spells); initiative; saving throws and spell resistance. Outsider Traits: Orcus has darkvision (60 foot range). He cannot be raised or resurrected. Poison (Ex): Sting - Injury, Fortitude DC 97, 4d6 Str/8d6 Str. The save DC is Constitution-based. Regeneration (Su): Orcus takes normal damage from weapons that are epic and good-aligned, and spells or effects with the good or lawful descriptor. Spell-like Abilities: At will - Spells: As a 45th-level
Cleric (Caster Level 106th). Summon Demons (Sp): Orcus can summon up to 180 Hit Dice of Demons per day. No individual demon summoned in this manner can have more than 60 total Hit Dice/Levels. Summon Undead (Sp): Orcus can summon up to 180 Hit Dice of Undead per day. No individual undead summoned in this manner can have more than 60 total Hit Dice/Levels. Possessions:
